Best of Egg Tarts

Introduced in Hong Kong in the 1940s, these custard pastries were first offered by cha chaan tengs - Chinese tea diners that serve affordable on-the-go dishes such as noodles, pasta and fried rice.
These little tarts are believed to have been nicked from Macau's Portugese community, as they look like the pastel de nata that have been around since the 1800s.
But regardless of where they come from, there's an eternal debate between connoisseurs that divides neatly into two camps: shortcrust versus flaky pie crust.
Leung Sang Hong Kong Pastries
$1.00 per piece. 18 Sago St., 6221-1344.
This one confuses us with its thin, dry crust, leaving us unsure whether it was meant to be shortcrust or flaky. It maintains a hard, smooth exterior but is crumbly and messy once bitten into. We felt there wasn't enough crust to balance the generous yet bland filling.
Rochor Original Beancurd
$1.40 per piece. 2 Short St., 6334-1138.
The crust is so good you can eat it on its own. Baked to perfection, it crumbles nicely in your mouth. The filling, however, is disappointing. Pale and bland, it lacks texture, that egg-y flavor, and real oomph.
Tong Heng Confectionery
$1.40 per piece. 285 South Bridge Rd., 6223-0398.
This is one hard, shortcrusted tart. More of a pudding than a custard, it features an extremely sweet, rather dense filling, bordered by a crumbly, biscuit-like crust. Topped with a mustard yellow finish, it feels jelly-like to the touch.
KFC
$1.30 per piece. Islandwide, 6222-6111.
The flaky, crisp crust neatly borders the pale yellow center. With an evenly-caramelized coat, a bite into this melt-in-your-mouth custard leaves an addictive creamy aftertaste.
Madeleine's Original Portuguese Egg Tart & Puff $1.30 per piece. 198 Tanjong Katong Rd., 6247-9363.
Hands-down winner. A tale of two extremes - its crisp, buttery crust mingles well with a smooth and creamy filling. Fragrant at first whiff, it stays loyal to the original Portuguese pastel de nata.

God Expresses His Holiness in You
1 Peter 1:14-15: "As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do."
As a child, did you always listen to your parents? There were times when obeying our parents was easy, and perhaps there were some times when we did not want to obey them. As children, our only real desire is to play. However, that does not make it any less necessary to brush our teeth or clean our room. But we obey (eventually). Why? Not because we want to but because we love our parents. We obey because we trust that they know what they are doing. We are called children of the Living God. And as such, we are meant to obey, like little children, once more. Christ has called us to be mirrors of Him in all that we do, and in all that we are . John Piper states, "In all our behavior the holiness of God becomes the dominating, all-shaping reality of life."
Because one of the attributes of Christ is holiness, we too are meant to become holy. As we saw earlier in Ezekiel 36, we are called to be holy, so that Christ's Holy name is known throughout the world. What's more amazing is that Christ equips us to do so.

Living Life
What Does Eve need to do?
Passage from NIV Gensis 2:18-25.
18The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
19 Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals.
But for Adam[f] no suitable helper was found. 21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs[g] and then closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib[h] he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
23 The man said,
“This is now bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called ‘woman,’
for she was taken out of man.”
24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
25 Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.
So what does Eve need to do? The passage in verse 22 mentions:
"Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib[h] he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man."
God brought her to the man. He/he refering to God.
Here are some possiblities as words after that were spoken by the Man.
1. God made Eve from rib for Adam: gave Eve life like the way as God gave Adam life. Eve became alive...and in front is God.
So what will God tell Eve to do?
God told Adam the following
v15: put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
v16: You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”
v15: to work it and take care of it. I presume there will be some instructions or words being passed to Adam
v16: Free to eat from any tree (no restriction) except tree of the knowledge of good and evil (restriction note)
The final concluding moment or item is back to Adam to say:
“This is now bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called ‘woman,’
for she was taken out of man.”
The final name to be given after a long stretch of naming animals. Naming Eve, Woman is the final task that God has prepared Adam to do, with the help of God.
For now this is so much I understand. Thus back to sleep....or back to doing work and then sleep... :) God, you are really so faithful.
So who woke Adam up? God or Eve? ? ? I wonder....only God knows the answer....
