When you pray, where is your focus? Most of the time, we find ourselves lost in our prayers because we are unaware of where we need to place our focus. But from men like Daniel, we find that we should pray from and though the Word of God. The Word of God is where we find the will of God and when we pray for His will, He is faithful to answer all of our prayers.
According to John Piper, "Without the Bible in our prayers, they will be just as worldly as the church we are trying to free from worldliness." Daniel's prayer begins with the Bible and it is saturated with the Bible. Phrase after phrase comes right our of the Scriptures. There are allusions to Leviticus (26:40) and Deuteronomy (28:64) and Exodus (34:6) and Psalms (44:14) and Jeremiah (25:11). The prayer brims with a biblical view or reality, because it brims with the Bible.
Challenge yourself to pray through the Bible. As you do so, ask that God speak to you in what He desires for you to pray for and experience your prayer life transform. There will be an increase and effectiveness in your prayers and you will walk in the power of the Holy Spirit as you allow God's words to guard your mind and light your path.
