Wen are you most vunlerable to compromise? We most likely compromise when our reputation is on the line or when we think that no one is looking. If no one knows, no one gets hurt; but is that really true? There are many things that we can do to merely survive, but "if we make survival the chief goal, we very often can survive but what do we become in the process? To survive we pay the price of bondage. But if we settle the issue of survival, we are truly free. Survival wasn't the issue for Jesus. Jesus was willing to die, hence no one could make him do anything that would compromise his integrity or mission." There are characters in the bible that stood the test of reaminging faithful to God or failed by compromising in order to survive. In Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused to bow down to the statue of King Nebuchadnezzar despite facing death, and God protected and honored their faithfulness. Others like David compromised once with Bathsheba, which led down him the path of further compromise, murdering Uriah, so that he could save his reputation and survive as king. In the latter half of David's life, we see how the sins he committed as a young man, although forgiven for, had consequences for his family. Will you choose to live a life of righteousness because you know that God sees everything, including the motives of your heart? Choose holiness and God will surely adorn you with your crown of life at your time of reunion with him.
